Hello and Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in our Sticks And Stones program!

We are so excited to welcome you to our home-on-the-web and share the details of this very important and multifaceted program.

Please feel free to click on the pages in the navigation bar above to learn about the various components of the program.

Our current initiatives include:

  1. Obtaining funding and approval to begin Phase I of the pilot program in our Robertson County, TN schools.
  2. Recruiting and vetting volunteers to assist in this process.
  3. Obtaining funding to move seamlessly into Phase II of the program, specifically the parts that will include Belonging Initiatives.

~~~~~~
Phase I, the initial introduction, is detailed in each of the pages listed above.
Here is an example of how one part of the Belonging portion of Phase II will work.
In early February, we plan to challenge students at Innovation Academy to build projects using renewable energy and / or solar powered initiatives. At the conclusion of the challenge, we will hold an Open House for them to showcase their work to their families and the public. Funding permitting, we will have cash prizes for the top 3 – 5 projects, based on voting at the Open House.
Then after all of that is completed, we will transport some of the projects and their engineers to our local elementary schools to present them in class assemblies.
We anticipate that allowing the younger students to have an opportunity to see and learn about the projects, while exploring the field of engineering, will serve as a springboard into the development of an engineering club at each school… thereby launching our Belonging initiative.
In a similar manner, assemblies geared towards other areas of interest can be performed for the students to spark additional clubs in the school.
Ultimately, we would like the clubs to be run by various Senior students to ensure self-sustainability and progression into the future. These students will, ideally, be planning a career / further education in the field of the club. There is potential for this to be a paid position through Faith Hope Love Charity, Inc.
